Gifts – Fall ‘09
The JCHS Art Club functions in part as a booster for the art classes, so checks can always be made out to them if you’re in a giving mood. But we also need your “trash”. There’s all kinds of things we can use in the art room. Don’t throw it away – give it to us! Right now we are in need of:
*newspaper – used for paper mache
*plastic shopping bags – used in pottery for keeping pots moist.
*empty “squirt” bottles (shampoo, ketchup, dish soap, etc.) – used for storing large amounts of paint.
*empty, 1 gallon, yellow milk jugs – used for storing photo chemicals
*empty, small glass jars (like baby food or pickles.) – used for storing small bits of paint overnight.
*broken colored glass – used to make glaze for pottery.
*leftover paint from home improvements – for painting and community service projects.
*fabric remnants – for crafts
*yarn/string/rope – for crafts
*chicken wire - for large sculpture’s support structure.
*wooden clothes pins – for photography
*small metal parts or tools (anything shiny, metalic, and smaller than your fist.) – for drawing class to use in still life images
If you sent one of these it would help a ton. If you see anything else you were going to throw out that you think we might be able to use, bring it by. You would be surprised what all we can use!
Thanks!
